Pro-Life Group Files IRS Complaint Against Planned Parenthood
Glenn Gilmour, 1/15/2025Folks, this is OUTRAGEOUS! Planned Parenthood has been caught red-handed turning their tax-exempt facilities into Democrat campaign headquarters! Meanwhile, the swamp is getting deeper with Durbin backing Rubio for Secretary of State. Our institutions are being weaponized right before our eyes, and we MUST stand up!In a striking development that underscores the increasingly complex intersection of politics and nonprofit operations, a major pro-life organization has launched a formal challenge against Planned Parenthood Florida — alleging the healthcare provider crossed a critical legal line by offering campaign workspace to Democratic operatives.
The 42-page IRS complaint, filed by 40 Days for Life — one of the nation's preeminent pro-life advocacy groups — claims Planned Parenthood's Florida chapter potentially violated its tax-exempt status through "prohibited political activities." The organization's CEO, Shawn Carney, points to what he describes as clear evidence of partisan engagement.
"We're physically at these abortion facilities, holding peaceful vigils and offering medical alternatives to abortion," Carney told Fox News Digital. "This was clearly noticeable — they were giving out flyers that said 'Tim Walz Tuesdays' and hosting campaign events, which, of course, they did not do for the Republicans."
The complaint — backed by photographs appearing to show campaign staffers entering Planned Parenthood's Sarasota facility — marks the second such challenge from 40 Days for Life. The organization previously filed concerns regarding a mobile abortion unit operating near the Democratic National Convention, where reproductive rights emerged as a central platform issue.
"The pro-abortion angle of running on celebrating abortion was a dismal failure for the Harris-Waltz campaign," Carney noted, adding that his organization is pressing for investigation into both alleged violations.
Meanwhile, in a dramatic shift across the political landscape, Senate Democratic leadership is extending an olive branch to the Republican establishment — with Democratic Whip Dick Durbin announcing his support for Senator Marco Rubio's nomination as Secretary of State in the incoming Trump administration.
"Senator Rubio and I share many similar views on foreign policy," Durbin declared, highlighting their collaborative efforts on human rights, China policy, and Venezuelan electoral integrity. "I believe Senator Rubio has a thorough understanding of the United States' role on an international scale."
The unexpected alliance — punctuated by fellow Democrat John Fetterman's earlier endorsement of Rubio as "a strong choice" — signals potential for bipartisan cooperation in an otherwise fractious political climate. Rubio's nomination hearing, scheduled before the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, stands poised to showcase this rare moment of cross-party consensus.
Should Rubio secure confirmation and resign his Senate seat — which currently extends through 2029 — Florida Governor Ron DeSantis would gain the power to appoint an interim replacement. This temporary appointment would bridge the gap until a 2026 special election determines who will complete Rubio's term — adding another layer of political intrigue to an already complex narrative of institutional change and partisan realignment.
