Witnesses described a dramatic scene filled with law enforcement activity, including heavily armored vehicles, officers armed with rifles, and helicopters swirling above. In a statement, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) confirmed that earlier in the day, they had carried out law enforcement operations as part of an ongoing investigation, with support from HSI offices in Los Angeles and Miami, as well as local law enforcement partners. The suit also alleges Combs' involvement in a "RICO enterprise" and a "sex trafficking venture," including multiple sexual assault allegations.
Additionally, Combs' former girlfriend, R&B singer Cassie, accused him of years of sexual abuse in a lawsuit settled last November. Two other women, Liza Gardner and Joie Dickerson-Neal, have also filed lawsuits alleging sexual assault by Combs. Perhaps most alarmingly, a woman identified as Jane Doe claimed that Combs and two other men sexually assaulted her when she was just 17 years old.
Combs has vehemently denied the allegations, calling them "sickening" and accusing his accusers of seeking a "quick payday." In a statement, he declared, "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. For the last couple of weeks, I have sat silently and watched people try to assassinate my character, destroy my reputation and my legacy. Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family and for the truth."
However, the federal raids suggest that authorities are taking the allegations seriously. Photos from the scenes show Combs' sons, 30-year-old Justin and 25-year-old King, being detained outside the premises while agents conducted their searches. Law enforcement sources indicated that the raids were carried out to seize Combs' phones and computers before his scheduled trip abroad, indicating a fear of potential evidence tampering.
